Foreword
The Volta Region of Ghana is endowed with important minerals and other natural resources, including gold, diamonds, copper, lead, iron ore, and oil and gas. The Awate Traditional Area located in the Volta Region also has fertile agricultural lands, enormous potentials for large-scale farming of all sort of agricultural products including fish farming for export. The Awate traditional Area has abundant deposit of Kaolin suitable for medicinal products, bricks, and ceramics production. The Volta River coast line of the Traditional area is a vast flat land suitable for the development of Beach resorts, Hotels, Recreational activities, and Hydropower plant for electricity generation that could be supplied to Ghanaian market and to neighbor countries. The community also has variety of tourist attractions. The mission of Awate Development Agency is to build a vibrant and gainful businesses in the community that serves both investors and the people in the long-run. I, Tɔgbui Đeitse Ⅶ, the traditional ruler of the community with utmost sincerity therefore invite all that are vested in economic development and investment to my traditional area for cooperative investment ventures.
Investment Opportunities
We seek to present, through this pamphlet, the hidden natural treasures of Awate Traditional Area and the Volta Region, and to expose variety of tourist attractions and investment potentials in the region. Our main objective is to expose these hidden treasures to Entrepreneurs, Businessmen and Women from all over the world to take advantage of this favorable investment environment, unexploited natural resources due solely to lack of machinery and investment capital.
Awate Traditional Area is strategically positioned along the Volta River which demarcates Eastern Region and the Volta Region of Ghana. The River runs almost the entire length of Awate Traditional area providing river highway to the Northern region and part of the Greater Accra, the capital of Ghana. This is an unsurpassed water body scenery that could be turned into huge investment opportunity as Holiday Resort, Hotels, Fish farming, and other agricultural investment opportunities. Recently, the District authorities launched an annual investment fair to expose the District and the Traditional area to potential investors to take advantage of the favorable investment environment, and the natural resources available.
