Community Healthcare Project:
Community People have to travel about 16 km to Margaret Marquart Hospital located in the District Capital, Kpando in the Volta Region of Ghana. As a result, many patients die from otherwise treatable minor sicknesses, and pregnant women deliver at home or on the way to this hospital without being attended to by healthcare professionals. This causes a high incidence of maternal/child mortality.
We have made significant progress in development by building a community health center. However, a lot still needs to be done. This led to the founding of ‘The Đeitse Foundation’. The Foundation is a Non-Profit and Community Based Organization established to help community development programs.
GOAL:
The overall objective is to provide Basic Health Services within the locality.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
To improve the quality of life in Awate Traditional area and surrounding Communities.
Health and Poverty:
There is a strong relationship between Health and Poverty. Income Poverty leads to Poor Health and adverse Health outcomes contribute to Income Poverty.
‘The Đeitse Foundation’ is an advocate for the Community People to achieve their full Health potential thereby reducing Poverty.
